‘A friend is the one who walks in when rest of the world walks out’ and ‘someone who knows all about you and still loves you the same’. Among the perfect friendship quotes, these two seem to stand out. There could not have been a better way to define perfect friendship. Since childhood till date we all have read and heard numerous notions about perfect friendship, the definition of which kept changing with time, people, culture and philosophy. But our quest for a mystic friend is never ending. However, we seldom seek to know the truth about a mystic friend or a friend with whom we have much more than just a physical or emotional bonding! A friend who is spiritually connected with us and he/she is like an extension of our very self. Like a true reflection of our being, a true friend always helps us in rectifying ourselves and guides us to a destiny of higher ecstasy and good will. That is why it is well said that ‘friends, with whom we share a mutual and spiritual love, leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same’. A mystic friend is that soulful companion who, with each passing day teaches us the value of humanity and morality and makes us rediscover ourselves with a renewed and wider vision.
Since our innocent childhood till our simplified old age, we seek companionship from different sphere of life and growth. At many times we manage to accumulate numerous people in our life whom we call friends, as it becomes a very lightly used term to us. Friendship has been expressed variedly by different people depending upon their experiences, viewpoints, upbringings and self opinions. It is generally looked upon as a bond between two or more people based on mutual interest and insight and common emotions and sharing. However, no one bothers to understand the fact that a true and mystic friendship can only be defined through one’s wisdom and the universal notion of selfless love, companionship and humanity. We always knew that ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed’ but the need must not be confined to just material pursuit. A mystic friend is not just a useful companion but a harbinger of spiritual, emotional and mental prosperity, unconditional love and personal evolution. It is someone, who is always by your side even in his/her absence, like a shadow that never leaves you alone but is unseen in the darkness.
